Meat block has been in business since 1909 and is one of the absolute BEST places to purchase fresh meat, seafood, seasonings, and odds and ends! They have such a wide variety and selection of meats, from beef, pork, lamb, chicken, duck, fish, shrimp, and crab legs, down to frog legs.. They have the largest variety (that I have seen) of seasoning blends also. They have buns and bread, Mackinac Island fudge, dog n suds root beer, Ice box brand ice cream, locally grown and packaged/canned items for sale, and much, much more! Their prices are absolutely affordable for the quality of their items! It is worth the trip. I love to shop locally and this is my favorite place for delicious cuts of meat! This place comes highly recommended in our community and by my friends and family as well! We have been shopping here for years and hope to continue for many more years to come!

Great selection of various cuts of meat. Prices seem a little high, but it is my opinion that you get your money's worth with quality and flavor. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I've bought meat products that range from brisket burger patties to a whole pig

The final straw Called to ask if they had a particular item. Lady on the phone was extremely short and rude. If a quick phone call was too inconvenient for them to be courteous, imagine them having to wait on an actual customer. I no longer will take the Meat Block into consideration as an option to suggest to others or a place I'm willing to spend my money. Choice cuts or mondays dinner Scott's Meat Market is always friendly and helpful. They also have better products at better prices. They are more than happy to answer a question or wait on a customer.

I've been buying steaks here since 1985 for my scuba club annual fall get together. You'll not find better meats anywhere in west michigan.

Haven't been inside in years. Wow, it has changed so much! What a great little store. They are carrying several local things in addition to their delicious meat selections. This is the kind of store I like to go to when I am visiting a nearby town or city ♥️

Great place to get your meat choices from. The prices are fair in my opinion and the quality has always been good. Service for me has been friendly and fast. I enjoy shopping local and am glad to have an option other then manor chains for fresh meat.
